Alston Macgill was born in Savannah, Georgia. She began her dance training at The STUDIO Savannah in 2002, continuing her training at The Rock School in Philadelphia from 2010 to 2011.
Ms. Macgill attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, in 2010 and 2011, and enrolled as a full-time student for the 2011 winter term.
In August 2015, she became an apprentice with NYCB. She joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in August 2016.
